Spennymoor Higher Elementary School 1912-1918

Alderman Wraith Grammar School 1918-1955

The school opened on April 22, 1912, as Spennymoor Higher Elementary School in Durham Road. It was renamed Alderman Wraith School in 1918, in honour of its founder and benefactor. In 1955 a new Technical Grammar School opened in Whitworth Lane, Spennymoor and Alderman Wraith became a Secondary School then Tudhoe Grange Comprehensive School in the mid-1970s.
