Cuthbert Hutchinson

Cuthbert was born in Tudhoe in 1895. His parents William, b 1852 Belmont, and Elizabeth Snowden, b 1854 Shincliffe, married in 1873, they had 10 children all born in Tudhoe Colliery with Cuthbert the youngest.

• In 1881 they lived at 261 Tudhoe Colliery
• in 1891 and 1901 at 139 Tudhoe Colliery
• in 1911 at 98 Tudhoe Colliery.

William was a miner and in 1911 Cuthbert, aged 16, was a weighman's assistant. Cuthbert served as a gunner in WWI and was living in Attwood Terrace in 1927. He married Doris Farthing in 1928 and they were living in Bessemer Terrace in 1929, by 1933 they had moved to Horden.
